What to do if you forget your dreams
Have you ever found yourself in a situation whereby you have a dream but you cannot remember what you saw in the dream or you don't even dream at all? A dream is a succession of images, ideas, emotions, and sensations that usually occur involuntarily in the mind during certain stages of sleep. The Bible defines a dream in (Job 33:15)“In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the falleth upon men…” The Bible says several things in this one verse. First, a dream is a vision of the night. The verse also teaches that a dream occurs when deep sleep falls upon men. According to the Bible, a vision is something that occurs when a man is awake, while a dream is something that occurs when a man is asleep. Some who study dreams say that we are always dreaming when we sleep, but we only remember the dreams right before we awake. This would actually fit with the Scriptures in several cases where men remember a dream that actually woke them up.
God uses our dreams and visions to bring instruction. God not only opens our ears, but also seals instruction through our dreams so that we are notified of our faults, counseled in wrong direction and given instruction on best ways to move forward from these circumstances. The Bible tells us, “He may speak in their ears and terrify them with warnings” (Job 33:16). God instructs through dreams, imprints upon the soul and through lasting impressions in a similar way that a seal is used to make an imprint in wax on a document. We can learn a lot through these instructions. We just have to be open to listening to what He is saying.
It can be very disturbing when you sleep and wake up only to discover that you had forgotten your dream, sometimes you might remember in flashes but it cannot be the same as remembering the full dream, the bible says " The Devil cometh not but to steal to kill and to destroy." This is also applicable to your dreams, when you dream and forget it means that there are powers that are behind it, these powers tend to steal the information or instructions that God has given to you through your dreams, even though you claim that tiredness made you forget your dream, don't you know that the Devil can cause more workload to be piled up for you at your place of work just so that you do not get access to the instructions that God is releasing to you through your dreams.
Reasons why you might forget your dream/why your dream life is stolen
Below are some reasons why people forget their dreams or dream life is stolen
1. Sin: A Person's dream life might be stolen or tampered with if the person involves in Sin, God hates iniquity, your dream is a God given gift, if you engage in sin the Devil might have access to the gateway to your dreams and steal it from you, sometimes your dreams can even be manipulated or you might forget it totally
2. Activity without spiritual sensitivity: If you are the type that pays more attention to work and less attention to prayer the resultant effect is that your spiritual life begins to get weaker and weaker, this is very dangerous as you might forget your dreams or not even dream at all
3. If you don't pay attention to your dreams when you have them: If God is always speaking to you through your dreams and you do not pay attention to what he is telling you then he might as well stop speaking to you. "To whom shall I speak and give warning That they may hear? Behold, their ears are closed And they cannot listen.bBehold, the word of the Lord has become a reproach to them; They have no delight in it." Jer 6:10 kjv
4. Dead prayer/fasting life: If your spiritual life is dead it can cause you not to remember your dreams, prayer is the service engine of a christians spiritual life, when your prayer life is dead you can expect that God will not speak to you.
