1 Sam 4:19-22
And his daughter in law, Phinehas' wife, was with child, near to be delivered: and when she heard the tidings that the ark of God was taken, and that her father in law and her husband were dead, she bowed herself and travailed; for her pains came upon her.
20 And about the time of her death the women that stood by her said unto her, Fear not; for thou hast born a son. But she answered not, neither did she regard it.
21 And she named the child Ichabod, saying, The glory is departed from Israel: because the ark of God was taken, and because of her father in law and her husband.
22 And she said, The glory is departed from Israel: for the ark of God is taken.
Sermon: For a woman, the birth of a son was wonderful news – but not for the wife of Phinehas on this day. To reflect her anguish and the national tragedy upon Israel she named the child Ichabod, meaning, “The glory has departed from Israel.” Her grief was so great, it overcame her maternal joy at the birth of her son. To her, the loss was total, and she even lost the desire to live.
The glory of God, displayed by the ark of the covenant, had departed from Israel. The Philistines now held it. There are people who the Glory of God has departed from, for some their beauty and graces have been stolen, they have found themselves in an Ichabod situation but God will restore every lost Glory today in the name of Jesus
As you Pray these Prayer points today every lost Glory will be restored, and the Lord will put an end to Ichabod in your life in the name of Jesus
