10 Encouraging scriptures in times of adversity
The word of God is light and the word of God is power, the reality is that the word of God has so many promises for us, God has put there encouraging words that we can key and tap into, if we believe these words we can come out of any adversity or problem that we are in.
Below are 10 powerful scriptures that you can key into in difficult times
1. Psalm 9:9-10
The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.
2. Philippians 4:19
And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.
3. Psalm 32:7-8
You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance. I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.
4. 1 Peter 5:7
Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.
5. Romans 8:18
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.
6. James 4:7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
7. Romans 5:3-4 And not only that, but we also rejoice in our afflictions, because we know that affliction produces endurance, endurance produces proven character, and proven character produces hope.
8. Ephesians 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
9. Isaiah 55:8 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the LORD.
10. Jer 29:11 "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end."
It is important that you know that times of Adversity do not last
Weeping lasts for a night. Hard times don’t last. The pain you’re feeling will end. Mary knew Jesus was going to die. Imagine the great suffering and the pain she went through inside. Take a second to realize that her pain didn’t last. Jesus died but He later resurrected.
Just as Psalm 30:5 says, “joy comes in the morning.” Your grief will turn into joy. Though a woman goes through labor pains that same pain she was feeling results in a great amount of joy. I encourage you to be patient.
Find the joy revealed in every situation. For all the sufferings we have in this world we will see the great work that God has done with that suffering. We will see the glory that comes from the pain and you can rest assured that joy will come from that glory.
